Bugatti La Voiture Noire
Cost Price: About £11.4 million (approx)
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire is a step up from "ordinary or garden" Bugattis. While your typical Chiron costs £2.5 million including taxes, this one-of-a-kind vehicle cost well over four times that amount. It is a true one-off. The second-most costly car in the world, then.
It is inspired by a 1940 Type 57 Atlantic owned by Jean Bugatti, the son of Bugatti's founder, and is built on a Chiron beneath. On a train from the French Bugatti factory in Molsheim to Bordeaux, it unexpectedly disappeared. Do you believe the La Voiture Noire is pricy? Apparently, Ralph Lauren declined a $100 million bid for one of his two Type 57 Atlantics.
The Bugatti La Voiture Noire, on the other hand, is tuned to be more of a grand tourer and is 450mm longer than a normal Chiron. It still has the same 8.0-litre, quad-turbo W16 engine with a little under 1500PS, so it can still go quickly if you flex your right foot. We'll have to wait and see whether Bugatti can find someone wealthy enough to order another one.
